ARROGANCE ON DISPLAY

Recently, as part of the joint parliamentary committee investigating the invoking of the Emergencies Act, Brantford-Brant MP Larry Brock questioned Deputy PM Chrystia Freeland. Brock's questions focused on how Freeland relied upon a false report from the CBC to justify invoking the act, and particular language that Freeland had uttered in the House to describe protesting truckers. As has become standard Liberal practice, Freeland answered none of the questions, but instead attempted to quote some irrelevant, scripted response. The arrogance and smugness displayed by Freeland was nauseous, and seemingly reflected that she believes that she is not obligated to provide any information requested by Brock or the joint committee.

Assuredly, Canadians want to know the justification by the Trudeau Liberals for invoking the Emergencies Act for the first time in Canadian

history. This measure granted the government sweeping powers that many would consider unconstitutional and a violation of charter rights. Hence, why the Emergencies Act was invoked should be clearly elucidated by the Liberal cabinet ministers involved. When the deputy PM chooses to not respond to essential and pertinent questions relating to the matter, it's obvious that the Trudeau Liberals simply desire to orchestrate another hypocritical coverup.

Such unbridled arrogance is utterly repugnant, and reflects total disdain for the democratic process. Canadians should indeed be livid.
